Just a quick update on Tunis activities in Ohio...AND there are a lot of opportunities for the Tunis people in Ohio.

The NATIONAL SALE in Greenville this week (May 11-12th) has lots of options for us...besides the free meal on Thursday night, donuts and walking tacos on Friday...the Select Livestock Sale has started listing the used sheep equipment that will go up for auction on Thursday night at 6 pm...lots of Sydell & Ketchum equipment and there will a lot more! 6:00 pm Thursday night.

Livestock Show/Sale & online Bidding will be live broadcast.....the Tunis should be on shortly after 9 am both on Thursday and Friday....Select Livestock Sale on youtube and the web.

BUT the Ohio Tunis Sheep Association needs your help...the Friday morning Silent Auction supports the youth activities in Ohio and the Buyers Credits for this Sale. BUT we need items to put in the Auction...anything that has value to someone else or we need buyers. Contact Louise at darlingtunis@gmail.com  for more info...Silent Auction is on the 12th.

The Ohio State Fair is offering a separate wool class for Tunis at the fair...check out the Ohio State Fair website for more info...entry deadline is June 21st.
The entry deadline for the Ohio Jr Tunis Show is also June 21st and the open class Tunis show also...The regional Jr Tunis show...the Buckeye Blowout show for any kid 2 years to 21 years...where a kid can show a Tunis registered in the family/farm name...that entry comes to me by noon of the show on August 2nd.

Tunis Sheep -A Breed Apart

The first, and most striking thing noticed about Tunis sheep is the beautiful red color set on an attractive sheep with long pendulous ears and a calm disposition. These sheep are quickly becoming favorites with everyone who tries this unique breed, from showmen to commercial farmers.

Our Mission

The National Tunis Sheep Registry, Inc. was established to guard and maintain the purity of Tunis sheep; to encourage the breeding of Tunis sheep; to maintain a register of pure-bred Tunis sheep; to issue certificates of registration and transfers; and to perform all other things requisite, necessary and to properly carry out the purposes and objectives of the organization.

Tunis are medium-sized meat-type sheep characterized by creamy wool
