Blackie's
Veggies started as a backyard pastime in the late 1980’s and has
been growing every year in size to produce fresh, top quality vegetables
from 12 acres.
"WE GROW EVERYTHING WE SELL" is our motto. In other words every vegetable at our stand is
grown on our farm. We think that meets the popular slogan of the day “BUY
LOCAL”.
We
have an ideal location and our consistent daily volume of customers let us
know that we sell top quality produce.” Our advertising consists of “word
of mouth” and our signs at the end of the road. In Carleton County, if you
have a good product, words gets around.
We
are open from July 1st (depending on the year) to November 1st.
We
know we sell a QUALITY PRODUCT, that is
FRESH and sold at a REASONABLE
COMPETITIVE PRICE. We pick our produce on a daily basis. The quality
control officers (Cécile and James) both pick and sell the product.

“We
would not sell anything we would not eat ourselves”.
Our
sheep eat anything that doesn’t make the grade. The sheep are our “live
composting machines”.
This table will provide you with the information on what vegetables we
