NEW Rules and Application posted on line each year in February and appear in Winter Hampshire Heartbeat. Participants complete an application and write a short essay over questions provided.  Essays and applications are judged and then winners are given a $300 credit to be used toward the purchase a ewe lamb.

NEW Rules and Point Forms posted on line each year in February and appear in Winter Hampshire Heartbeat
. Ewe lambs are nominated by their breeder to enter into the program.  Participants purchase a futurity nominated ewe lamb and then turn in points for each show that they attend.  Points accumulate following the rule set for the competition and then premiums are awarded on a sliding scale to the top 10 participants.

RISING STAR EWE LAMB AWARD - 2012 Application
The AHSA Board of Directors has announced the Ewe Lamb Project for 2001. The purpose of the program is to promote Hampshires as a youth project.  Specifically, to introduce youth to the joys of raising Hampshire sheep.  AHSA members will be donating 8 ewe lambs to deserving youth across the country.   Deadline for the applications to be submitted to the AHSA office is April 1.  Winners of the ewe lambs will be announced June 1 and the ewe lambs will be selected by the winners at the National Hampshire Sale held in conjunction with the Midwest Stud Ram Sale in Sedalia, MO.   All ewe lambs will be DNA tested for the spider syndrome and will be entered in the AHSA ewe lamb futurity.  Applications for the ewe lambs may be obtained from the AHSA office by calling 641-942-6402.
